Obituary

DeLane Myers, age 81, of Twin Valley, Minnesota, died Monday, June 27, 2011, in Sanford Health Systems, Fargo, North Dakota.

DeLane Pauline Marie Warnsholz was born July 19, 1929, to Arthur and Clara (Hagenah) Warnsholz in Green Meadow Township near Ada, Minnesota. She was baptized, confirmed and married at St. John's Lutheran Church in Green Meadow. DeLane graduated from Ada High School. She worked in St. Paul, Minnesota and Chicago, Illinois, then in Ada at the Creamery. On July 19, 1952, she was united in marriage to Floyd Myers and his three children. The family lived northeast of Ada and then Glyndon, Minnesota, growing by two more children. In 1959, they purchased a ranch east of Twin Valley and raised Angus cattle. In 2007, she moved into Twin Valley.

DeLane was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, a Sunday school teacher, on the church council, and a member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML) organization. She enjoyed her years as a Home Lake 4-H Club leader. She was an integral part of their successful Angus cattle ranch with Floyd. They were recognized in 1992 by the Minnesota Angus Association for their dedication to the Angus industry.

DeLane's legacy as a seamstress will live on in the gifts she made for her family, as well as her sewing professionally for friends and neighbors. She spent several years as a teacher's aide at the Trinity and Bethlehem Lutheran Churches' Pre-School. DeLane was currently the contact person for the local blood drive. She will be long remembered for the best homemade bread and cinnamon rolls around. Other favorite past-times included tending her vegetable and flower gardens. She loved being with family and friends, and was a dedicated G-Ma.

She is survived by her children: Ricky (Donna) Myers of Missoula, Montana, Norman "Butch" (Nadine) Myers of Twin Valley, Rod (Phyllis) Myers of Billings, Montana, Terryl (Stan) Wieczorek of Guthrie, Oklahoma and Debra Bain of Twin Valley; a brother, Merlyn (Ellie) Warnsholz of Welch, Minnesota; a sister, Laurena (Burton) Slininger of Twin Valley; 16 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
