Obituary

Debrah Malmo, age 63, of Naytahwaush, MN, died Monday, October 16, 2017, at Essentia Health Systems in Fargo, ND.

Debrah Ann Malmo was born March 6, 1954, in New Jersey to Ramona (Guinn) and Ralph Malmo. At the young age of 3, Debbie's family moved to the White Earth Reservation. She was raised in the Roy Lake area, where she would spend the majority of her years. She was confirmed at Nee-Gon-Nee Lutheran Church near Roy Lake. Debrah was blessed with two girls, Candida and Ramona. Over the years, she worked as a seamstress at the Sewing Factory and later at the Shooting Star Casino. Debbie worked as a room attendant at the casino for several years until her declining health forced her into early retirement in 2010.

Debbie never passed up an opportunity to go berry and mushroom picking or a trip to the casino. She loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. Debbie also enjoyed working crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles. She will be greatly missed by many.

Debrah is survived by her daughters, Candida Malmo (Eugene Stevens) of Mahnomen and Ramona Malmo of Naytahwaush; five grandchildren: Katie, Brianna, Louie, Autumn, and Stanley; three great-grandchildren: Elayna, Shylah and Elyus one brother, Raymond (Karen) Malmo of Moorhead, MN; one sister, Echo (Mike) Halstad of Hendrum, MN; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ramona and Ralph Malmo; grandparents, Ole and Echo Malmo, and Ted and Alice Guinn; one brother, Ralph Malmo; and a nephew Charles Malmo.

A Celebration of Debrah's Life will be held at 2PM on Friday, October 20, 2017 at Roy Lake Landing.
