Dean Lundon, age 53, died unexpectedly Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at his home in Mahnomen, MN.
Dean Allen Lundon was born August 6, 1962 to William and Lois (Dunbar) Lundon in Ada, MN. He grew up near Mahnomen and attended school there. Following his high school graduation with the class of 1980, Dean worked for Lundon Brothers Well Drilling, Dick's Service & Salvage and S & T Motors before working for Abbott-Arne-Schwindt Construction in Fargo, ND. On June 25, 1983 Dean was united in marriage to Brenda Roy at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Mahnomen. They made their home in Mahnomen and were blessed with two children, Marcus and Amanda. Dean was employed with Dittmer Concrete in Fargo from the mid 1980's until 1997. He also became a licensed well driller. In 1998, Dean started Lundon Concrete which he proudly owned and operated. Over the past 18 years, Dean has provided concrete work for countless residential and farm building projects around the area. When not working, Dean was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to hunt during any season: rifle, bow or muzzleloader. He also spent countless hours fishing in both the summer and winter months. He was a wonderful cook and often made jerky and venison sausage, as well as other treats for his family. Dean always kept busy and had the knack for fixing anything.
Since he was a young man, Dean has been passionate about racing. He participated in pure stock, enduro and ice racing. He met so many friends at the racetrack and treasured his racing family. Dean's family meant the world to him; he was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and uncle. He held a special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews and was truly proud of his children. Dean was a member of the Mahnomen Area Sportsman's Club and St. Michael's Catholic Church. He eagerly helped others and volunteered in the community. Dean had a wonderful sense of humor and brought a smile to all those around him.
