Dawn Kirsch, 48, of Mahnomen, MN, died Sunday, December 9, 2007, at the Mahnomen Health Center.

Dawn Marie Kirsch was born on February 21, 1959, in Mahnomen, to John "Jack" and Johnnie (Kraling) Hausner. She attended Mahnomen Public Schools, graduating with the class of 1977. Upon graduation, Dawn enrolled in college at the University of Minnesota Crookston, where she studied Business Administration. She moved to Duluth where she worked at the Glass Block Department Store for two years before returning back to Mahnomen. Upon her return, Dawn worked at the American Legion for a short time.

In 1983, Dawn was united in marriage to Robert Kirsch at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Beaulieu, MN. They made their home on a farm east of Mahnomen and were blessed with one son, John Michael. She began working at the Shooting Star Casino where she was employed up until her death. In 1995, Dawn and her son, John Michael, moved into Mahnomen where they have lived since.

She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and the Naytahwaush Nightriders Snow Club.

In her spare time, Dawn enjoyed reading, going to the lake and spending time with friends and family. Always putting others before herself, Dawn was a very giving person and will be greatly missed by those who love her.

Dawn is survived by a son, John Michael; her father, Jack Hausner; a grandmother, Helen Hausner; one brother, John Edward Hausner; a nephew and niece, James and Jackie Hausner; and John's father, Bob Kirsch, all of Mahnomen.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Johnnie, in 1996; maternal grandparents and paternal grandfather.
