David A. Soyring, age 76, of Waubun, MN, died Friday, February 9, 2018, at his home.

David Arnold Soyring was born in White Earth, MN, on November 17, 1941, the son of David and Delia (LaGue) Soyring. He spent his youth in the Waubun area and cut his schooling short when he joined the United States Navy at the early age of 17. While serving, Dave would meet the love of his life, Yvonne Holt, and her son, Joseph. They were united in marriage on December 17, 1962, in Elizabeth City, NC. The family of three made their home in Norfolk, VA, and were blessed with three additional children: Teresa, Wayne and Arnold Sr. Throughout the 1970's, David and Yvonne moved between Minnesota and Virginia several times. Following his honorable discharge and a move to Waubun in 1976, they moved to Fergus Falls, MN, where Dave would begin his career with the Minnesota Department of Transportation as a highway maintenance worker. He would later be transferred to the Mahnomen station and once again the couple returned to Waubun to make their home, this time for good. David retired in 2006 but kept busy. Yvonne passed away in 2010 and David remained in their home until his death.

Over the years, Dave enjoyed hunting and fishing and watching his soap operas, especially "Young and the Restless" and "Days of our Lives". He was always up for a trip to the casino and spending time with family. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart and he will be missed by many.

David is survived by two sons, Wayne (Nancy) of Moorhead, MN, and Arnold "Arnie" (Mary Riegert) of Waubun; a daughter, Teresa Soyring also of Waubun; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three brothers: Bernard (Lois) of Waubun, Paul (Jen) of Callaway, and Gary of Waubun; six sisters: Elaine (Jesse) Finch and Jeanine (Mark) Conklin both of Waubun, Mary "Biz" Burrow of Detroit Lakes, MN, Yvonne "Pork" (James "Boy") Helm and Pamela (Herman) Holt both of Waubun, and Norma Hedlund of Detroit Lakes; brothers-in-law: Terry Sprunk, LeRoy Fairbanks, and Tony Goerdt; sister-in-law, Janelle Soyring; special friend of the family, Jean Soyring; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

David was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Joseph; two brothers, Richard and Dean; and three sisters: Marie Fairbanks, Tina Bellecourt and Linda Goerdt.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Anderson Family Funeral Home in Mahnomen led by Pastor Paul Larson. Visitation will be held one-hour prior at the funeral home.
