David "Dave" Nicholson, 62, Ogema, MN, died on Wednesday, October 24, 2007 in his home.
Dave was born on February 23, 1945 in DuBois, Pennsylvania. He was raised and attended school there. As a young man, Dave enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. Upon his return, he worked as a mechanic in the Minneapolis area.
On August 6, 1994, he was united in marriage to Jeanette VanWert in White Earth, MN. Dave worked road construction throughout Minnesota for most of his career as a heavy equipment operator.
An avid outdoorsman, Dave enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also a skilled carpenter and known as the "Jack of all Trades" when it came to woodworking. Dave liked making bird houses, lawn ornaments and during the holiday season he made wood Santa's that his family would display.
Dave is survived by his wife Jeanette, of Ogema; three step-sons: Gordon (Wabi), St. Paul, MN; Raymond, White Earth, MN; Matthew (Raven), Frazee, MN; one daughter, Stacie Folstrom, Elbow Lake, MN; his mother Mary and one sister, Jane, both of Reynoldsville, PA; two brothers: Don, Reynoldsville, PA; Rick, Nashville, TN; and 14 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his step-father, James and one brother, James.
