Mahle
Apr 7, 1961 — Jun 5, 2025
Ada
David Mahle, age 64, of Ada, MN passed away at his home on Thursday, June 5, 2025.
David Leon Mahle was born on April 7, 1961, in Ada, MN. As a young boy, David was adopted and lovingly raised by Herman and Lorna (Bak) Mahle, who welcomed him into their hearts and home with open arms. David was proud to be part of the Mahle family and also made efforts throughout his life to build meaningful connections with his biological siblings.
Though he faced the challenges of a mental disability, David lived a full and vibrant life. He worked for many years at the DAC, assisting with community-based jobs throughout the area. Since work was not his favorite pastime, he happily retired the moment he had the chance.
David's true joys came from the simple pleasures in life, especially music. He was a devoted fan of old-time country and spent countless hours scouring garage sales and thrift stores in search of records and tapes to add to his beloved collection. Concerts were a highlight of his life, and he was always thrilled to meet musicians and have his albums signed. One of his favorite memories was sitting in the front row at a Judds concert and receiving a hug from the star herself, a moment he cherished forever.
A familiar and friendly face at the Norman County Fair, David could always be counted on to enjoy an ice cream cone and soak in the fun. He found great joy in visiting with others, attending family gatherings, and sharing time with his family. His warm heart and love for conversation made him truly special. David's life was one filled with music, memories, and meaningful connections. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Lorna Mahle. He is survived by many cousins and extended Mahle family members; his siblings: Kelly Kortuem, Cheryl Stuart, Susan Jolin, Rose Halvorson, and Reinhardt "John" (Heather) Wichern; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., with a visitation starting one hour before, at Anderson Family Funeral Home in Twin Valley, MN. Burial will take place at St. Petri Lutheran Cemetery, rural Gary, MN.
