Magee
Mar 7, 1972 — Feb 6, 2026
Naytahwaush
David Magee, age 53, of Naytahwaush, MN, died unexpectedly on Friday, February 6, 2026.
David Anthony Magee was born in Dallas, TX, the son of Danny and Jean (LaGarde) Magee. His youth was spent in Minneapolis, MN, where he graduated from South High. Following high school, Dave entered the workforce and worked as a security guard for concerts. He was able to attend and hear many big-name artists like Diana Ross and Prince. David later worked in construction while living in the Twin Cities area before moving up north to the White Earth Reservation to make his home. He worked as a bartender, Blackjack dealer, wildland firefighter and most recently as a counselor at Men's Acute Care for the White Earth Nation until his health declined.
As a hard worker, David's work didn't go unnoticed and he was often recognized for his efforts. He was very giving and was willing to help anyone in need. He had a great personality and sense of humor which allowed people to gravitate towards him. David liked to tell stories and there seldom was an empty seat at this blackjack table. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his mother, Jean Magee of Bemidji, MN; sister, Michelle Magee also of Bemidji; nephews and niece: Chad Williams, LaShon Williams and Waleya LaGarde; son, Nicholas Stone; uncle and aunt, Joe (Susie) LaGarde; longtime companion, Rose Bellanger. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; dad, Danny; and his only daughter, KayLa Magee.
