David Hanks, infant son of Lara Hanks and Harold Hill, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at Hennepin County Medical Center, Minneapolis, MN.

David Ezra Hanks and his twin brother, Ezekiel, were welcomed into this world on January 16, 2026, and he was tenderly given his Indian name "Gizhiibaayaate".   The twins were immediately welcomed by excited siblings: Kairo, Le'lani, and Zaya, where they soon filled the house with even more joy and laughter.  He was a calm and happy baby who loved to be cuddled.  David loved to share smiles and coos with mom and his siblings daily.  The 5 months he was in their arms changed his family forever.  His all too brief life truly made a difference in the world and his precious memory will be cherished in their hearts always.

He is survived by his mom, Lara Hanks; dad, Harold Hill; siblings: Kairo, Le'lani, Zaya and identical twin brother, Ezekiel; grandparents, Eric and Ruby Evans; great grandparents: Robert and Ethel Davey and Wanda Lego; uncles: Thomas Hanks Jr., Dallas Hanks and Kendrick Evans; aunts, Lana Hanks and Chantel Hanks; and numerous extended family members who loved and adored him. He was proceeded in death by his grandpa, Thomas Hanks Sr.; great-grandpa, Laverne Feather; uncle, Thomas Hanks; and aunt, Kylee McArthur.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at the White Earth Community Center, White Earth, MN.  All night wake services will begin on      Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at 5:00 pm with ceremony at 7:00 pm and continue until the time of the funeral on Thursday.  Burial will take place at St. Columba Episcopal Cemetery, White Earth, MN.
