David R. Dittmer, 50, Halstad, MN, died Thursday, June 28, 2012, at his home.

David was born on March 11, 1962, in Ada, MN, the son of David and Edna (Moltzan) Dittmer. He grew up in Gary, MN and later moved to Halstad where he graduated from high school in 1980. Dave graduated from Moorhead (MN) Technical College from the 2 year chef program. He worked as a cook at various places in the Fargo/Moorhead area.

David enjoyed reading, TV, playing cards, cooking, and sports. He was a big person with a big heart and opened it to many.

David is survived by three sisters, Lorie (Randy) Paulsrud, Halstad, MN, Julie (Jerry) Rognlie, Clara City, MN, Sherrie (Scott) Miller, East Brady, PA, one brother, Michael (Tara) Dittmer, Moorhead, MN, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents, and a niece, Morgan Mae Dittmer.

Visitation: 5-7pm, Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at Fredrikson Valley Funeral Home, Halstad, MN.
