Daryl Charles Miller, Ada, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 24, 2016, at Benedictine Care Community, Ada, at 88 years of age.
Daryl was born May 8, 1928, to Dewey and Alma Miller in Ada. He entered the U.S. Navy in November of 1945 and served until October of 1947. He married LaVonne Gunderson from Twin Valley, MN, on December 20, 1952 in Ada. They would have been married 64 years this year.
Daryl spent time farming and working for other farmers. He also spent 23 years working for John Deere in Ada as a service manager. His true passion was working for law enforcement, which he did throughout his life in several different areas. He enjoyed helping others as much as he could. He was the type of person who could start a conversation with anyone and everyone. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially out at the lake cabin.
He is survived by his wife LaVonne, of Ada, MN; daughters Muriel (Mike) Longlet of Anchorage, AK; Vickie (David) Nelson of Campbell, MN; Denise (David) Miller of Owatonna, MN; and son, Daryl Douglas (Joleen) Miller of Ada, MN, as well as 9 Grandchildren and 6 Great-Grandchildren, and one sister, Maradee (Miller) Lee, Halstad, MN. Daryl was preceded in death by his parents Dewy and Alma; a son, Rickie Donavan Miller; his sisters, Shirley Larson and infant Joy Miller; and brother, Larry Miller as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.
