Darlene V. Nelson, 77, Shelly, MN, died Wednesday, June 16, 2010, in Walla Walla, WA.

Darlene Violet Iszler was born March 16, 1933, at Ashley, ND, the daughter of John and Elsie (Rohrbach) Iszler. She attended school in Halstad and graduated from Halstad High School. Darlene was united in marriage to Kenneth Nelson on July 7, 1951, in Ft. Hood, TX.

They made their home in Shelly and raised their family. She also worked with her husband in construction refurbishing manufactured homes around the country. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her hobbies included crocheting and knitting.

Darlene is survived by four sons, Steven, Shelly, MN, David (Wendy), Beaverton, OR, Lenny, Ada, MN, John (Tammy) Nampa, ID, two daughters, Peggy (Tom) Sheridan, Walla Walla, WA, Violet (Rick) Henriksen, Glyndon, MN, one sister, Vangie Simer, Nampa, ID, fifteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Kenneth, and one daughter-in-law, Theresa Nelson.

Funeral Service: 11:00AM, Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at Bethany Lutheran Church, rural Shelly, MN.

Visitation: Tuesday 5-7PM, with a Prayer Service at 6:30 pm, at the Fredrikson Valley Funeral Home, Halstad, MN.

Burial: Bethany Lutheran Cemetery, rural Shelly, MN.
