Darci Lynn Nelson, age 39, of Gary, MN died Thursday, September 8, 2016, in her home surrounded by family and friends.

Darci Nelson, the youngest of six children, was born in Ada, MN on November 22, 1976, the daughter of Gordon and Maureen (Anderson) Nelson. She was baptized at Gary Lutheran Church where she later confirmed her faith and remained a lifelong member.She grew up in her beloved hometown community, attending Gary Public School and later graduating from Norman County East High School with the class of 1995. During her high school years, Darci was very active in cheerleading and loved to participate in music. Upon graduation, Darci furthered her education for a year at the University of Minnesota at Crookston. She moved to Fargo for a few years and was employed in the banking business. Darci then returned home and worked at the Twin Valley State Bank for a short time. In 2005, she joined the staff at the Gary State Bank where she continued to work through July 2016. Darci's positive attitude and kind personality touched all of her customers and everyone around her.

Darci loved life and good friends. Her favorite pastimes included spending time at the lake cabin, listening to music, playing bingo, eating out, playing cards, going to the Casino, watching game shows, and she always looked forward to the annual 4-wheeler trip with her 'gang'.

Darci, is survived by her mother, Maureen Nelson of Gary, MN; brothers: Mike (Jill) Nelson of Gary, MN and Paul Nelson of Fertile, MN; sisters: Pam (Brian) Matzke of Buffalo, MN, Laurie (Mike) Sather of Gary, MN and Jana (Earl) Pederson of Bejou, MN; her best friend, Mary Riegert, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Gordon Nelson.
