Curtis Berg, age 90, of Twin Valley, MN, passed away on Friday, July 29th, 2022 at Viking Manor Nursing Home in Ulen, MN under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Curtis Duane Berg was born on October 8, 1931 to Walter and Gladys (Benson) Berg in Twin Valley. Curt was confirmed and baptized at West Wild Rice Lutheran Church, and he graduated from Twin Valley High School with the class of 1949. Following his graduation, he continued to help his father on the farm, which lead to a lifelong farming passion. On August 26, 1956, Curt married Elaine Axdahl in Walworth Baptist Church in rural Flom, MN and they made their home west of Twin Valley. The couple was blessed with four children: Bruce, Lyle, Karen, and Dale. Curt kept himself busy milking cows and farming while helping raise his family, and also worked at American Crystal in Crookston for a few years. Elaine passed in 2003 and Curt continued to live on the farm. On March 11, 2007, Curt married Alice "Allie" Quittschreiber in Zion Lutheran Church, Twin Valley. The couple continued to live on the farm until moving to the Normandy Apartments in Twin Valley in March of 2022. Curt officially retired in 2018 but continued to enjoy trips to the farm and helping when he could.

Along with being a dedicated, hard worker, Curt was known for his stoic personality and his strong handshake. He was a cowboy through and through, enjoying caring for and riding horses. He was a member of the Twin Valley Riders Club for many years. Never to let his hands be idle, Curt filled his free time deer hunting, snowmobiling, and spending time outdoors. In his later years, he enjoyed going for Ranger rides and drives to check out the crops. He will be greatly missed by his loved ones.

Curt is survived by his wife, Allie Berg; children, Bruce (Linda Kremer) Berg, Lyle (LuAnn) Berg, and Karen (Stephen) Neisen; stepchildren, Kim (Randy) Brovold, Leland "Bud" (Julie) Ellenberg, Kris (Doug) Lange, and Kelly Ellenberg; seven grandchildren, Jessica (Daniel) Seelbinder, Ashley (Dave) Armstrong, Adam (Amy Rhodes) Neisen, Amanda (Brandon) Huotari, Eric (Erin Udell) Neisen, Andrew (Kiya Tenney) Berg, and Drs. Sarah (Tyler) Berg-DePaulis; 12 step-grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren, Alley, Haley, Ethan, Chris, Tucker, Robbie, Pepper, Ellis, and Parker; 25 step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Curt was preceded in death by his first wife, Elaine Berg; son, Dale Berg; stepdaughter, Karen (Lyle) Horn; and sisters, Marion Berg and Elaine Foldoe.
