Colleen "Coe"
Dahlen

Gastonia
Watch Coe's Service (held concurrent with his aunt Mary's)
Colleen "Coe" Dahlen, age 68, of Gastonia, NC, formerly of Twin Valley, MN, passed away at his home on June 3, 2025.
Coe was born on November 20, 1956, in Ada, MN, to Herbert and Karel (Holznagel) Dahlen. He spent his early childhood in Ada before the family moved to a farm near Faith, MN. Coe graduated from Mahnomen High School and went on to further his education. He worked in a variety of jobs throughout his life, with one of his favorites being his time serving the community with the local EMS.
A true Minnesotan at heart, Coe had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and the simple beauty of nature. In the late 2000s, he formed a close friendship with Glenda Williams, which blossomed into a lasting love. In the early 2010s, Coe moved to Gastonia, North Carolina, to be closer to Glenda, and the two made a happy home there.
Coe was known for his generous heart, quick wit, and infectious laugh. He was a gifted storyteller, often captivating his listeners with tales from his life—many of which ended in shared laughter. Coe had a natural gift for making friends wherever he went and never passed up a good conversation. He had a heart of gold and was always the first to offer help in a time of need—whether it was a ride to the doctor, a trip to the store, or a hand fixing something around the house. Coe loved his North Carolina family and never missed a gathering. He had a soft spot for animals, especially his beloved little dog, Rambo, who was his constant companion and best friend. A talented musician, Coe found great joy in playing the guitar and sharing his music with loved ones. His kindness, warmth, and larger-than-life presence left a lasting impression on everyone who knew and loved him.
Coe is survived by extended family in Minnesota and a beloved second family in North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Perry and Mike; and his longtime partner, Glenda.
