Clarence "Ole" Lakeman, age 80, of Borup, MN, died Saturday, August 14, 2010 at Bridges Care Community in Ada, MN.

Clarence O. Lakeman was born April 4, 1930, the son of Dirk and Gudrun (Hovland) Lakeman on the home farm near Borup where he was raised and attended country school nearby. As a young man, Ole farmed with his dad before entering the United States Army, January 31, 1952. After his honorable discharge on January 31, 1955, Ole was united in marriage to Florence Miller on June 18, 1955 at Pelican Rapids. The couple made their home near Borup where Ole continued to work with his dad until taking over the farm in 1966. Ole also found time to assist several of his neighbors with their farm work until his retirement in 1980. After his retirement, he continued to help on his daughter and son-in-laws farm doing spring and fall work. Ole continued to live on the farm until 2000, at which time he moved into Borup. In 2009, Ole became a resident of Bridges Care Community, where he resided until the time of his death.

Ole's favorite past times included playing cards, fishing, hunting and trap shooting. Another hobby that he enjoyed was assembling guns. He was a past Boy Scout Leader, gun safety instructor, and was a member of the Felton Lions, American Legion and the Norman County Rod & Gun Club.

Ole is survived by two sons, Danny (Denise) Borup, MN and Ronny (Jeanna) Ada, MN; two daughters, Karen Oren, Borup, MN, Kim (Tim) Weber, Borup, MN; four sisters, Bernadine, (Robert) Wambach, Georgetown, MN, Harriet Tufton, Kragnes, MN, Helen (Burt) Madson, Fargo, ND, and Mary Ann (Vernon) Strand, Shelly, MN; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Pam and sister, Goldie Germolus.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 18 at 10:00am in the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Felton, MN.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 17 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm with a prayer service at 7:00pm all at the church. Officiating will be Pastor Karla Mickelson with Natalie Hilde serving as organist and vocal selections provided by his two daughters. Pallbearers were Michael Lakeman, Tyler Weber, Ben Lakeman, Rob Myers, John Germolus, Greg Strand, Randy Tufton and Gary Wambach. Honorary pallbearers will be Willie Germolus, Robert Wambach, Burt Madson, Vernon Strand, Roger Myers and Glenn Kroshus. Military Honors will be provided by the Ulen VFW Post #5115 and the Ulen Post #412 of the American Legion.

Interment was in the Felton Cemetery.
