Christopher Super, age 52, of Frazee, MN, died Tuesday, March 10, 2020, at Essentia Health, Fargo, ND.

Christopher Joseph Super, age 52, of Frazee, MN, formerly Pottstown, PA, died Tuesday, March 10, 2020, at Essentia Hospital in Fargo, ND, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Chris was born on July 13, 1967, in San Francisco, CA. He was baptized at Lake Grove Lutheran Church, Waubun, MN, and grew up in Glenside, PA.  As a child he excelled as a young artist and later studied art at Montgomery County Community College.   Chris was united in marriage to Susan Warihay on October 11, 1997, and in 2003, the couple was blessed with a son, Joseph Andrew.  He owned and operated a window-washing business which allowed him to enjoy building relationships with people while being able to spend his time outdoors.

Chris was a naturalist and environmentalist at heart and loved the outdoors.  His first job was with Green Peace. He became an expert skier at an early age and delighted in skiing in shorts or in a tuxedo. Chris was an avid birdwatcher, loved flowers, trees, gardening, and found rest and relaxation in tending a campfire.  He also enjoyed hiking. Chris trekked hundreds of miles with the walking stick he carved at Bible Camp when he was a kid. Some of these excursions involved the Appalachian Trail with friends, a honeymoon in Alaska with Susan, and the North and South Dakota Badlands. Many memories were also made with his son, Joe, like adventures to the lakeshores in Michigan and Minnesota, Devil's Tower in Wyoming, Washington DC, Sweetwater, TN, and the solar eclipse. Chris' final hike was made as he bravely faced a cancer diagnosis at the Roger Maris Cancer Center in Fargo.

He loved his life and his family, and he loved his Lord.

Chris is survived by his mother, Beatrice Purdy of Frazee; his father, Joseph (Nancy Morgan) Super of Collegeville, PA; his son, Joseph Andrew Super, and Joseph's mother, Susan Super, both of Boyertown, PA; four sisters: Andrienne (Sidney) Smith of Stonewall, LA, Stephanie (Matt) King of Berwick, PA, Patty Wallace of Austin, TX, and Beth Hanson of Berwick, PA; his nieces and nephews: Jessica, Bonnie, Erin, Shannon, Conner, Josephine "JoJo", and Billy; aunts and uncle, Betty Benson and Wayne (Jean) Benson and their families; and numerous cousins and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather, William Purdy; his grandparents: Vernon and Anna Benson and Joseph and Ann Super; one uncle, Lloyd Benson; and one aunt, Barbara Zinger.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at Lake Grove Lutheran Church, Waubun, MN.  A Time of Gathering will take place one-hour prior to the service at the church.
