Christopher Curtis Orsland, 47, passed away of natural causes, Saturday, June 17, 2023, in his apartment in Crookston, MN.

Christopher was born December 7, 1975, to Curtis and Colette (Holland) Orsland in Hillsboro, ND. His first years were spent in Shelly, MN, and several other towns in Minnesota before settling in Twin Valley, MN.  Chris attended school at Norman County East and graduated with the class of 1995. After high school, Chris moved to Moorhead, MN to attend Minnesota State Technical College and worked at various jobs. He lived in Neilsville, MN for a few years before making his home in Crookston. He worked at the Novel Cup coffee shop and with the Northwest Mental Health Center. Chris especially enjoyed his time working as a peer support specialist as he truly loved helping people.  Recently, Chris wasn't able to work due to health issues and has focused most of his attention on his family. He became very close to his niece and nephews who lived nearby and often taxied them around town to appointments and events.  One year at Crookston Oxcart Days, Chris won the pizza eating contest, making a very special memory for all of them. Chris loved WWE wrestling and MN Vikings football.  He often went to his friend Steve's home to watch WWE pay-per-view and never missed a Vikings game.  He also enjoyed going to monster truck shows. Chris had a whimsical personality and was an avid collector of dragon figurines and swords.  His compassion for others and gentle spirit will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his father, Curtis and stepmother Lynda, Hillsboro, ND; two sisters: Carla (Chad) Roy of Virginia, MN and Carissa (Sean) Hansen of Crookston; one brother, Bobby Kluck, Grand Forks, ND; his nephews and nieces: Shayne Burnside, Fargo, ND, Jaye Burnside, Hawley, MN, Kaylie Pucel, Ely, MN, Alyssia and Joey Pucel, Virginia; Hanako, Malakai and Kahnen Hansen, Crookston, Nolan Kluck, East Grand Forks, MN & Caleb Kluck, Grand Forks.; and great nephew and nieces: Connor and Bailey Vanatta-Burnside, Fargo, Alaina Burnside and Aubree Gerzin, Ely, MN . He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his mother Colette; grandmothers, Mabel Rognlie and Dorothy Iszler, grandfathers, Orris Holland and Alfred Orsland, step grandfathers, Emil Drivdahl and John Iszler, step grandparents, Doris and Harold Anderson; and his uncle, Arnold Orsland.
