Christina Louise, the daughter of Kenneth and Diane (Dunham) Matson, was born on December 28, 1979 in Fargo, ND. She was raised south of Twin Valley with her younger siblings, Brittany and Jordan. Christina attended school in Twin Valley through Jr. High, at which time she transferred to Ulen High School. Christina was active in high school band, playing both flute and piccolo, choir, and musicals. She made wonderful memories when the band and choir traveled to Germany. Christina doted on her little brother, Jordan, and passionately assisted with his care and special needs. Following her high school graduation in 1998, Christina pursued her dreams of becoming a nurse. While attending college in Fergus Falls, Christina met the love of her life, Patrick Simon. The couple were married on September 2, 2000 and began their life together. They lived for a time in Waubun, MN before making their forever home near Twin Valley. Christina worked for several years at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, beginning as an oncology nurse and later with the pediatric intensive care unit. Christina has spent the majority of her career working with Noridian HealthCare Solution where she was currently employed.

Christina's greatest passion and purpose in life came in the form of her Gift from God – Nora. Being called Nora's Mom is what she would want most to be remembered for. Her pride and delight in everything Nora did was always evident. She devoted her life to caring for Nora and ensuring her happiness. Christina spent many hours driving Nora to and from her activities, which she did not mind at all. She was her daughter's biggest fan. Their latest project is a shining example of her caring as they constructed the Taj Mahal of chicken coops! Christina cherished the quiet farm life they had created. She enjoyed horses and had a beautiful singing voice. Christina was very proud of the vegetable garden she planted this spring and was diligent in its care. After quietly tending her garden on the afternoon of June 24, 2020, Christina passed away suddenly at home. Through her loving, compassionate, feisty, talkative, and genuinely caring personality, Christina touched so many people. She was a devoted wife, mom, daughter, sister, and friend, who was truly loved and will forever be held in the hearts of those closest to her.

Christina will be missed by her husband, Patrick and her daughter, Nora, both of Twin Valley; parents, Kenneth and Diane Matson of Twin Valley; sister, Brittany and niece, Makenna Lien of Ulen; grandmothers, Joyce Matson and Edith Dunham of Ulen; mother-in-law, Rose Mary Simon of Waubun; brothers and sisters-in-law: Randy (Zita) Simon, Stephanie (Ralph) Scherrer, Sharon Simon, Dean (Anne) Simon, Debbie (Joel) Dilley, Michelle Dahl, Maria (Bill) Brower, Kristie Simon, and Lori (Tuff) Tibbetts; and her Godparents: Phil and Arlys Matson and Joe and Lisa Kluver; as well as many Simon nieces and nephews.

She was greeted in heaven by her brother, Jordan; grandfathers, Willie Matson and Jerry Dunham; father-in-law, Louis "Buddy" Simon; brother-in-law, Kelly Dahl; and one nephew, Conner Simon.

A Graveside Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2020, at 10:00 am at Keene Lutheran Cemetery, Keene Township, rural Ulen, MN. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 29, 2020, from 5-7 pm at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Ulen, MN.
