Cheryl Clark, age 66, of Borup, MN, died Friday, September 26, 2014, in Sanford Palliative Care, Fargo.
Cheryl Ann Clark was born July 25, 1948. She grew up in Borup and attended and graduated from Borup High School in 1966. Cheryl knew from an early age that her life would be focused on nursing and the care for others. She attended Nursing School at St. Francis in Crookston, MN. After graduating in 1969, Cheryl moved to Minneapolis and worked at St. Mary's Hospital in St. Paul and at Pilot City Health Center in North Minneapolis. After a couple years, she moved to Boulder, Colorado and worked in the x-ray department as a Radiologic Tech. Cheryl lived and worked in Colorado for over 17 years. In 1989, she moved to St. Cloud, MN, where she was employed for many years at the Hospital and Clinic in addition to commuting and working at the Buffalo Hospital for almost 10 years, before retiring and moving home to Borup.
Cheri had made so many wonderful friends throughout her nursing career. She loved the mountains of Colorado and her time there held a special place in her heart. Cheri also loved the lake. She enjoyed the time she spent with Marion and Tommy at the cabin on South Twin Lake, and was very much at home on Pelican Lake. Many, many hot summer days were spent there. The cabin on Pelican Lake especially made her feel relaxed during her treatment.
Cheri was diagnosed with cancer in November of 2013. During her battle with cancer, Cheri was still thinking of how to help others by participating in a trial program in hopes she would contribute in a cure for cancer. Always with a smile, Cheri remained brave and didn't want her friends and family to worry about her.
Cheri is survived by her four brothers: Shawn (Michelle) Crompton and Steve (Vicki) Crompton all of Borup, Tim Crompton of Pelican Lake, MN and Shane (Angie) Crompton of Hendrum, MN; her best friend of 46 years, Diane Schnedler; many nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends. She is preceded in death by her mother, Marion and her father, Tommy.
A Memorial Service was held on Saturday, October 4th, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Ada, MN, with a Time of Gathering one hour prior. Officiating was Fr.
