Obituary

Cheryl Antell, age 64, of Mahnomen, MN died on Thursday, February 17, 2022 at her home.

Cheryl Darlene, the daughter of Alfred and Roberta (Bohler) Smith, was born on April 19, 1957.  She grew up in Minneapolis, MN, spending most of her childhood in the Brooklyn Park and Osseo communities.  As a young woman, Cheryl was married and blessed with three children: Eric, Chris, and Katie.  She worked several jobs but most of the time she served others as a caretaker.  Thirty-five years ago, Cheryl met William Antell and they have shared their life together since.  Her family grew with the addition of her stepdaughter, Haley Jo. They lived in northeast Minneapolis before moving to Thief River Falls, MN.    They have made their home in Mahnomen for the past 22 years, where they lovingly raised Triniti.  Cheryl worked for a time at Hanson's Group Home as well as at the Shooting Star Casino.  In her spare time, Cheryl enjoyed cooking, camping, playing games on her I-Pad and working in her gardens. She loved flowers and always kept her eyes out for beautiful red Cardinals.  She also spent many hours sewing. Most of all, she cherished her family and treasured her time spent with her children and grandchildren.

Cheryl is survived by her husband, Bill of Mahnomen; sons, Eric Renshaw of Minneapolis, and Chris Renshaw of New Brighton, MN; daughters, Katie (Daryl) Harrell of Brooklyn Center, MN, Triniti Antell of Mahnomen, and Haley Jo Glasscock of Sumpter, SC; grandchildren: Jacob, Tevin, Willie, Eddie, and Bella; and three great grandchildren, Bryson, Aria, and Cameron; as well as her sisters, Vickie Patnode, Becky Smith, and Sandy Holmboe; and sister-in-law, Vickie Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Alfred Jr; and one great grandson, Blaine.
