Charles L. Neisen, 63, Ada, Minnesota, died Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND.

Charlie was born on September 1, 1952, at Mahnomen, MN, the son of Elmer and Virgelia (Machulda) Neisen. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Mahnomen and graduated from Mahnomen High School. He started his farm machinery career working for Atkins Equipment in Detroit Lakes, MN.

Charlie was united in marriage to Barbara Voit on June 18, 1977, in Mahnomen. They moved to Ada in 1978 and have resided for the past 38 years. Charlie worked for several equipment dealerships in the area including Norman County Implement for many years before retiring. He later worked for the Lynn Johnson family farms of Ada.

Charlie was a talented agricultural mechanic and many area farmers in Norman and Mahnomen Counties requested him for their repairs. He was a humble person, who loved the time with his family and especially his grandchildren. He and Barb stayed busy with yard projects and he enjoyed landscaping and his gardens. He had worked in the Ada Greenhouse and for his brother in the Mahnomen Greenhouse. He was active for many years with the Knights of Columbus and he enjoyed helping people, especially the area farmers. He was known to be a "Father figure" to many kids in the area, and he will be missed by many.

Charlie is survived by his wife, Barb, his son Frank (Cindy) Neisen, Glyndon, MN, his daughter Angela (Kevin) Baity, Audubon, MN, 5 grandchildren: Dominic, Chase, Madelynn, Madysen, and Mia, his mother Virgie Neisen, of Mahnomen, his sisters, Marilyn (Ken) Blomsberg, Cambridge, MN, Christy (Tim) Neu, of Germany, Kathleen (Dan) Lech, Felton, MN, his brothers, Allan (Dottie) Neisen, Mahnomen, MN, and Phillip (Jeanne) Neisen, of Minnetonka, MN, his mother-in-law, Luella Voit, Mahnomen, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Elmer, a brother William, and father-in-law, Leonard Voit.

Funeral Mass: 10:30AM Monday, May 2, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ada.

Visitation: Sunday, May 1, 2016 from 5-7PM with a 7:00PM Rosary at the Church.

Interment: Ada Municipal Cemetery, Ada, MN.
