Chad Lynndell Olson, 54, Fertile, MN, passed away under the care of doctors on December 2, 2020 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

Chad was born on December 14, 1965 in Crookston, MN to Faye (Johnson) & Verdell Olson. Chad graduated from Fertile – Beltrami High School in 1984 and continued his education at Bemidji AVTI for Auto Body Repair. Chad worked in Bemidji, Fertile, and Minneapolis for several years before moving to Seattle, WA pursuing his bicycle racing dream and working construction. Unfortunately, after an accident and several injuries he had to move on. Chad then developed a passion for carpentry. He started his own construction company to add modular second stories to existing single-story homes. He later moved his company to Kamloops, BC, Canada until health conditions brought him back to Fertile. He was always a very talented do-it-yourself kind of guy. This included carpentry, mechanical, and automotive among other talents. He could build or fix almost anything.

Chad spent his last years caring for his mother and grandmother, spending a lot of time tending to their needs, running errands, taking them to doctor appointments, and keeping them company. Through the majority of his life, Chad has always had a faithful canine companion. Mack, has been that companion for the last 10 years.

Chad is survived by his grandmother, Olga Johnson; parents, Faye & Verdell Olson; sisters, Michelle O'Shea & her husband Danny; and JoDee Jensrud & her husband Travis; brother, Troy Olson & his wife Mary; and several uncles and aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Chad is preceded in death by his grandparents; Alvin "Bill" and Edna Olson, and Orvis Johnson. Chad was also preceded in death by his faithful canine companions, Josiah, Trixie and Jack.
