Cecelia LaFriniere, age 72, of Bagley, MN, died Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at First Care Nursing Home in Fosston, MN.

Cecelia Joann LaFriniere, daughter of Floyd and Gertrude (Spicer) LaFriniere, was born on March 6, 1940 in St. Paul, MN. She spent her early childhood in the St. Paul area before moving with her family to northern Minnesota. She attended country grade school and later Naytahwaush and Mahnomen High Schools. Ceil was united in marriage to Robert Keezer, Sr. and they started a family together. While raising her children, Ceil lived in several communities including Mahnomen, Ebro, Bagley, Lengby, and Bejou, MN. She was employed with the White Earth Reservation as a Community Health Representative for seven years. Ceil was later married to Louis Fox and they added another son, Louis, to the family. She spent most of her career as a cook working many years at the S&K Bar and Grill in Bagley. Over 20 years ago, Ceil met Carl Swenson and the two have made their life together since.

Ceil was always busy and cherished time with her family. In addition to her own children, she lovingly raised her granddaughter, Chantell since infancy. She also had very close relationships with her niece Lynette; granddaughters: Nicolle, Samantha, and Melissa; and her great-great nephew, Ayden. Ceil loved to read, play cards, Scrabble, cross word puzzles and in her later years, go to the casino. She also spent many hours crocheting and watching her soaps on television. Her strong personality and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew her.

Ceil is survived by her companion, Carl Swenson of Bagley; five sons: Darrald "Boozie" (Sandy) Keezer of Cass Lake, MN, Tom (Tina) Keezer of Naytahwaush, MN, Robert (Pam) Keezer of Naytahwaush, Mike (Patty) Keezer of Naytahwaush, and Louis (Angie) Fox of McIntosh, MN; dear granddaughters: Chantel King, Melissa (Scott Fanning) Keezer, Nicolle King, and Samantha Fox; one brother, Floyd (Loris) LaFriniere of Roy Lake, MN; one sister, Edith (Ronald) Nefzger of Bejou, MN; a sister-in-law, Anita Guinn of Roy Lake, MN; a special niece, Lynette Thompson; and a precious great-great nephew, Ayden, who was dear to her heart; as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Susan and Tina; sisters, Florence "Peaney" and Aileen "Maggie"; one brother, John LaFriniere; nephew Dennis Perrault and three infant siblings: Mary, Joseph, and Francis.

Funeral Services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at Samuel Memorial Episcopal Church in Naytahwaush, MN with Rev Tim Brown officiating. Special music was provided by Steven Campbell, Tim and Tammy Brown, and Pat Moran. Serving as pallbearers were Rob Keezer, Gabe Keezer, Nathan Keezer, Joey Keezer, Bud Keezer, and Eric Keezer. Honorary bearers were all of Ceil's family and friends. Visitation was held on Monday, July 23, at Samuel Memorial Episcopal Church from 5-7 pm with a prayer service beginning at 7 pm.

Interment was at Samuel Memorial Cemetery in Naytahwaush.
