Catherine Ann (Dietz) Trautner died January 28, 2017 surrounded by loved ones. Cathy was born September 26, 1955 to Margaret (Muller) Dietz and Marcellus Dietz in Graceville, Minnesota. She attended school in Graceville graduating in 1973; she was the fourth child in a family of five children. On April 27,1974 she married Donald Gary and they made their home in Graceville, MN. They later moved to Mahnomen, MN where she lived until her death. Cathy and Donald had three children together (Melissa, Holly & Travis). In 1985, Cathy remarried to Jerry Trautner and later their son Dustin was born. In the last few years of her life, she found love again with Jerome Lampley. Cathy was a woman of many talents & skills, but her most memorable being her incredible talent in the kitchen and her lovely flower garden. She worked as a cook/chef at numerous establishments throughout her life. When she was not cooking, she was busy working in her beautiful flower garden, sewing or crocheting. Cathy's calling in life was to help & serve others in all circumstances; she did it wholeheartedly & tirelessly. In giving of herself to others, she found her purpose and happiness. One of her greatest pleasures was partaking in large and small family gatherings, where together around the kitchen table there was always much laughter, joy and memories. Cathy is survived by: Her companion: Jerome Lampley, Mahnomen, MN; Her children: Melissa (Derek) Schroding, Spearfish, SD; Holly Lee, Fargo, ND; Travis (Tanya) Gary, Mahnomen, MN; Dustin (Amanda) Trautner, Clearlake, MN; Her 14 beautiful grandchildren: Julie, Brett, Alayna, Devin, Meaghan, Ayden, Marcus, Thea, Ashlyn, Aubrey, Slade, Bentley, Nolan and Charlie; and one great granddaughter, Ariette. Her sister, Connie Dietz, Graceville, MN; Her brothers, Richard Dietz, Mahnomen, MN; James (Fern) Dietz, Northrop, MN; Mark (Anne) Dietz, Graceville, MN, and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: Her parents: Marcellus and Margaret Dietz (Della Dietz, stepmother). A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 4, 2017, at the Anderson-Family Funeral Home in Mahnomen. Time of gathering will be held one hour prior to the service.
