Carole I.(McBain) Hanson, 73, Fertile, MN, died Thursday, December 24, 2015, at Essentia Health, Fosston, MN.

Carole was born on September 5, 1942, to Angus and Ida (Jorgenson) McBain in Bagley, MN, where she attended Bagley High School. She married Maynard Thorson in 1958 and they had 3 children, Scott Leroy, Cheryl Lynn and Ross Angus. They divorced in 1973. Carole married Duane Hanson on May 24 1980, and resided on a farm near Fertile. She had various jobs including a library aide, clerk, homemaker, nurse's aide, seamstress, and long term caregiver for Lutheran Social Services. She was an active member at Little Norway Lutheran Church and enjoyed gardening, camping, traveling, spending time with her children and grandchildren as well as cooking and baking.

Carole is survived by her husband Duane Hanson, of Fertile, son Scott (Mary) Thorson and their children, Chris and Rachel of Carson City, NV, daughter Cheryl Thorson of Rochester, MN, son Ross (Kristin) Thorson and their children, Nicole and Erika of Grand Forks, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents and 3 brothers, Donald, James, and Gene.

Funeral: 10:30AM Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at Little Norway Lutheran Church, Fertile, MN.

Visitation: Tuesday from 5:00PM to 7:00PM with a 6:30PM prayer service at the church.

Burial: Little Norway Lutheran Cemetery, Fertile, MN.
