Carol "Bones" LaFriniere, age 44, of Mahnomen, MN, died Monday, September 4, 2017, at Sanford Health, Fargo, ND.

Carol Jean LaFriniere was born September 29, 1972, in Bagley, MN, to Bonnie (Stevens) and Kenneth LaFriniere. She grew up around Roy Lake and attended school in Mahnomen. Over the years, Carol helped her dad leech, and enjoyed being in the woods doing other seasonal work. Carol worked at Angelina's Supper Club and the Minnesota Dehydrated Vegetables Inc. in Fosston. She later received training as a CNA and worked for a few years at the nursing home in Mahnomen. Carol mostly kept busy cleaning for people and spending time with her grandchildren. She had a special bond with her oldest granddaughter, Mikaela. It was Carol that the family called upon when in need, no matter what the situation or circumstances, she was there to listen or help in any way possible.

Bones enjoyed being with family and spending time with her significant other, Jay Jay Fredrick and his mom, Karen. She also had a special place in her heart for her aunties, Yvonne Stevens and Connie LaFriniere. They would often go places together and liked to frequent the casino.

Carol is survived by a daughter, Kayla (Michael Bush) LaFriniere; four grandchildren: Mikaela, Mikenah, Michael Jr. and Mikiera, all of Naytahwaush; sisters, Sherry (Steve) Halberg, of Alida, MN, Nicole LaFriniere (Jeremy Potter) of White Earth, MN, a brother, Hawk LaFriniere (Jessi Gagnon) of Roy Lake, MN, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, and many extended family.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, Sept 12, 2017, at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Naytahwaush, MN. Visitation will take place on Monday, September 11, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm, with a Prayer Service beginning at 6:30pm at St. Anne's Catholic Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
