Carol E. Stordahl, 94, of Moorhead, MN and formerly of Ada, MN, passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Hospice (HIA) Heather's House in Fargo, ND.

Carol Evonne Stordahl was born on March 13, 1931, to Carl and Mildred (Olson) Nelson in rural Hawley, MN. She grew up amid the warmth of Midwestern community values and was known for her gentle spirit and generous heart.

In 1964, she married the love of her life, Duane Stordahl, and this past spring they joyfully celebrated 61 years of love and marriage together. Carol and Duane shared a passion for travel and made wonderful memories of their adventures.

Carol was devoted to Grace Lutheran Church in Ada, where she and Duane were longtime members. She contributed her time and talents to the church quilting group, lovingly preparing quilt squares in a special room at home for this purpose. Carol and Duane also gave generously of their time to Meals on Wheels, helping deliver kindness and nourishment in their community. Additionally, Carol and Duane volunteered at the Ada Senior Center and Norman County Historical Society, underscoring her commitment to honoring heritage and community.

Carol's family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to all family and friends that were there for Carol until the very end, and a very special thank you to granddaughters, Dawn and Ashley for their dedicated support. Thank you as well to HIA Hospice staff for the compassionate, uplifting care she received, which brightened Carol's days and brought comfort. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit will live on in the stories, laughter, and acts of kindness she leaves behind.

Carol is survived by her devoted husband, Duane Stordahl of Moorhead, MN; daughters, Diane (Gerald) Walswick, Finley, ND, Debra (Dennis) Lommen, New Rockford, ND;  Denise (Richard) LaVoy, Naytahwaush, MN, and Jody Stordahl, Venice, CA; grandchildren, Mendi (Rick) Van Camp, Fargo, ND, Jason (Heidi) Walswick, Finley, ND, Kari (Don) Satrom, Portland, ND, Don (Amy) Goughnour, Finley, ND, Dawn (Jeff) Leedahl Ramsey, Moorhead, MN, Matthew (Jade) Lommen, Bettendorf, IA, Ashley Lommen, West Fargo, ND, Jacob (Shawna) Lommen, New Rockford, ND, Amber (Jon) Luebke, Rosemount, MN, Ashlee LaVoy, Rosemount, MN, Audrey (Derrick) Hilmoe, Rosemount, MN, and Richard (Kayla) LaVoy, Farmington, MN; great grandchildren, Seth (Brett), Adam, Trevor (Kayla), Laura, Jack, Sammy (Julia), Sawyer, Raina, Rylee, Tate (Becca), Skyyla, Kaden (Ethan),  Victor, Iziah, Areana, Maliek, Makhi, Alysia, Bella, Nora, Lillian, Dalila, Abigail, Jack, Kinley, Carson, Calvin, Ricky, Izzy, and Addie; great-great grandchildren, Stevie, Josie and Teegan, with twins expected in the upcoming weeks; sisters, Maydell Dolva, Hawley, MN, and Beverly Myhre, Crete, IL; brother in law, Elwood Stordahl, Fargo, ND; and many nieces and nephews.

Carol was preceded in death by parents, Carl and Mildred Nelson; infant twin children, Katherine and Robert Busse; granddaughter, Amanda Lommen, great granddaughter, JoHanna Leedahl; and beloved pets, Sugar, Muffin, and Max.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Hospice (HIA) in Carol's name.

A private Celebration of Life Service will be held with inurnment in the Ada Municipal Cemetery, Ada, MN.
