Carl Swenson, age 75, of Bagley, MN, died on Saturday, June 2, 2018, at the Twin Valley Living Center, Twin Valley, MN.

Carl Lee Swenson was born January 13, 1943, in Bagley, MN, the son of Oliver and Edith (Lietz) Swenson. He grew up and attended school in Bagley. Carl entered the work force at the young age of 15. He was always a hard worker and spent most of his life in careers working in the great outdoors. He spent time in North Dakota, Iowa, and Montana before settling back in Minnesota. Spread out over the years and the prior mentioned states Carl worked in construction, logging, ranching and the oil fields. However, his heart was always in music and his strive to be a musician.  His guitar traveled with him on all his endeavors.

Carl truly enjoyed being in the outdoors. He liked hunting, fishing, camping, smoking fish and woodworking. He especially enjoyed making bird houses. When indoors, Carl loved music, parties, get-togethers and spending time with his children and grandchildren. His sense of humor was one of a kind and his personality was known for teasing and joking and he will be sadly missed by many.

Carl is survived by three daughters: Terri (Lyle) Midbo of Bagley, MN, Deanne Swenson of Bejou, MN, and Natalie (Paul) Boyd of Hall, MT; four sons: Brian (Michelle) Swenson-Goodwin of Bayfield, WI, Bradley (Tina) Swenson of Bagley, MN, Daryl Swenson of Washington, and Anthony Swenson of Minot, ND; one daughter-in-law, Christina Swenson of Clarksville, TN; 22 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; five sisters: Edith Campbell of Bemidji, MN, Olga Weneneson of Cloquet, MN, Pearl (Lester) Beck of Shevlin, MN, Linda (Warren) Bogert of Grafton, ND, and Joyce (Michael) Meyers of Bagley, MN; sisters-in-law, Marge Swenson of Bagley, MN, and Sally Swenson of Shelly, MN; brother-in-law, Raymond Umphrey of Inkster, ND; numerous nieces and nephews and a special granddaughter, Chantel King. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, William "Billy" Swenson; sister, Florence Umphrey; brothers: Duane Swenson, John Swenson and Peter Swenson; sister-in-law, Evelyn Swenson, brothers-in-law, Donald Campbell and Wayne Weneneson; special friend Gus Umphrey and his significant other, Cecelia LaFriniere.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 8, 2018, at 11:00 am at Zion Lutheran Church, Bagley, MN.  Visitation will be held one-hour prior at the church.  Burial will be held in the church cemetery.
