Camille
Kindseth
Aug 5, 1923 — May 5, 2013
Camille "Camilla" Alvida Severson was born on August 5, 1923 to Andrew and Clara (Stundahl) Severson, the eldest of seven children. She was raised and grew up on a farm near Faith, MN. Camille attended country school and then worked for a local couple doing carious chores to save enough money to attend high school. She was a very determined person and achieved her goal, graduating with the Twin Valley Class of 1942.
Camille was baptized and confirmed at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Faith. As a young girl and the eldest child, she helped her dad with many chores around the farm and helped her mother with the younger children.
Camille was united in marriage to Ernest A. Bjorge on February 20, 1943 at the Wild Rice parsonage. Ernest entered the service in September of 1942 and died in France in 1945. On July 12, 1947, she married Howard Kindseth in Ada, MN. They lived on Howard's family farm where they raised their family, had milk cows, and grain farmed. Howard passed away in 1976. She worked at Viking Snowmobile plant for many years on the assembly line. She also later worked at the indoor theater in Twin Valley. In 1984-85, Camille built her present home in Twin Valley where she continued to live until her passing on May 5, 2013 at Sanford Palliative Care Unit. Camille's family is truly grateful for the care Camille received in Palliative Care and gives their deepest thanks to all of her nurses there.
Camille was a very hard worker and particular about the things she did. After Howard's death, she remodeled the farm house doing a lot of work herself, including building a deck onto the house. She also did all the staining of the woodwork in her new home in Twin Valley. She took excellent care of anything in her possession. She loved the old time country music and especially loved Elvis and all of his music. For her 80th birthday, Camille was able to go see Elvis' Graceland mansion and his place "the Lisa Marie." She also attended the Grand Ole Opry on that trip, which she enjoyed so much. She loved to travel and took numerous trips to the west coast to see her siblings. She loved going to the Shooting Star Casino, singing Karaoke, and was also a member of "Roy's Service" bowling team. She participated in a bowling league for many, many years and won many awards. She collected Elvis memorabilia, porcelain dolls, porcelain birds and stuffed animals. She loved to watch the "soap operas" and hated to miss an episode. Camille loved going to the Red Apple in Mahnomen for chocolate pie and to the Friday night fish frys. She also loved family get togethers with holiday favorites including mashed potatoes and gravy, lefse, and anything chocolate.
Camille is survived by her children: Rosalind (Loren) Lene of Concrete, WA, Larry (Anna) of Fargo, ND, Bruce (Ann Marie) of Jamestown, ND, and Heather (David) Pederson of Mahnomen, MN; a daughter-in-law, Cathy "Ruth" Ben-Abraham; her special friend, Lyle Sandal; 21 grandchildren: Naarah, Naomi, Ethan, Elkanah, Ephraim, Shushanie, Dinah, Enoch, Jonathan, Nathaniel, Eldad, Roxanne, Christopher, Raquel, Janie, Elizabeth, Jacqueline, Lucas, Sarah, and Rhea; 24 great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren. Camille is also survived by her siblings: Sander Severson of Manteca, CA, Rose Anne Johnson of Yelm, WA, June Murray of Kent, WA, and May Haider of Kent, WA.
