Bruce Swiers, age 62, of Bejou, MN, died on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at his home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Bruce Allen Swiers was born May 24, 1959, in Fosston, MN, the 4 th child born to John and Elaine (Garland) Swiers.  He grew up in the Bejou area and attended school in Mahnomen.  As a young man, Bruce entered the workforce and began custom combining for the David Stock Farm of Fergus Fall, MN.  After several years of going south he decided to stay a bit closer to home and worked as a laborer for area farmers.  Over the years, Bruce also worked in the construction field for Dirt Dynamics of Fargo and later A1 Septic in Mahnomen.  Due to his failing health, he was forced to take an early retirement.

Working and keeping busy was not only his job but his way of life.  Bruce was a hard worker, never leaving tasks undone or shying away from challenging feats.  He was proud of all things he accomplished, big or small.  Although gone from this life too soon, he will live on forever in the hearts of many.

Survivors include his mother, Elaine, of Bejou; siblings: John E (Pat) Swiers of Callaway, MN, Patricia (Peter) Stock of Mahnomen, MN, Anita (Jim) Olson of Maple Bay, MN, Stewart (Mary Drake) Swiers of Bismarck, ND, Jennifer (Harold) Kokesch of Brooks, MN, Greg (Carri Danielson) Swiers of Bejou, and Joe (Gerri) Swiers also of Bejou; son, Joseph Helm of Crookston, MN; two granddaughters, Hailey and Kyra; several nieces and nephews and special friend, JoAnn. Bruce was preceded in death by his father, John, in 2012; infant granddaughter, Shayla; grandparents: Ed & Magdalene Garland, and John H. and Phyllis Swiers.
