Brandon "Neckbone" McArthur, age 43, of Mahnomen, MN, died on Monday, November 29, 2021, at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND.

Brandon Bernard McArthur Sr. was the first baby of the new year, born January 1, 1978, in Detroit Lakes, MN, the son of Tammy McArthur and Randy Scott. His childhood was spent growing up in the Mahnomen and Naytahwaush, MN, areas. Brandon attended elementary school in Naytahwaush followed by high school in Mahnomen.  As a teenager, he moved to Duluth, MN, but after a few years he returned to the White Earth Reservation following the death of his oldest child, Brandon Jr.

He was employed at the Shooting Star Casino in Mahnomen as a prep cook, which he thoroughly enjoyed. Brandon was a great cook and could often be found in the kitchen whipping up awesome meals for his friends and family. He was a fun-loving individual with a great sense of humor, cracking jokes left and right. In his spare time, Brandon liked listening to music especially Rap and playing Blackjack, either on his phone or at the casino.  The past eight years he's lived in Mahnomen together with Ariel Melina and they share the love of six children.  Although gone from this life too soon, he will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Brandon leaves behind nine daughters: Brandee (Donovan Cobenais) McArthur of Redby, MN, Sara (Edward) LaVallie of Belcourt, ND, Mia McArthur of Cloquet, MN, Madison McArthur also of Cloquet, Alizae McArthur of Mahnomen, Audriana McArthur also of Mahnomen, Ava Bjerk of Naytahwaush, Angelica McArthur and Ariana McArthur both of Mahnomen; five sons: Dakota Antell of Cloquet, Landon McArthur of Mahnomen, Kendrick McArthur of Grand Forks, ND, Mario McArthur and Maurice "Mo" McArthur both of Mahnomen; three grandchildren: Rose, Reign and Reagan; mother, Tammy McArthur of Mahnomen; father, Randy Scott of Naytahwaush; one sister, Angela (Mark) Holm of St. Francis, MN; two nieces, Julia and Amelia; one nephew, Mark Jr.; several aunts, uncles and cousins.  He was preceded in death by a son, Brandon McArthur Jr.; a daughter, Kylee McArthur; grandparents; cousin, Patrick Scott; and special friend, Maria Brown.

A Funeral Ceremony will be held Monday, December 6, 2021 at 2:00 pm at the Naytahwaush Sports Complex, Naytahwaush, MN.

Following all Covid-19 safety protocols, and CDC guidelines, social distancing will be practiced. Masks are strongly encouraged.
