Bonnie Cogger, age 60, of Flom, MN, died Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at her residence.
Bonnie was born October 5, 1953, in Detroit Lakes, MN, the daughter of Ignatius and Melba (Gruber) Perrine. She grew up in the Rochert, MN, area and graduated from Frazee High School with the class of 1971. Later that year, Bonnie was united in marriage to Gary Wood. The couple made their home in the Detroit Lakes area, where their son, Gary Jr. and daughter, Lisa, were born. In 1980, Bonnie married Monty Cogger and together they had five additional children: Crystal, Tracy, Nicole, Jennifer and Matthew. The family lived in Richwood, MN, where Bonnie was a stay at home mom to their young family. She worked as a hostess for several years at the Shooting Star Casino. Bonnie and Larry Swiers were blessed a daughter, Tiffany. Bonnie moved to Waubun, MN and began a painting business, working for area residents painting homes. In 1999, Bonnie met Arlen Lunde and moved to Flom where she made her home. She continued her painting business in addition to keeping the books for Lunde Blade and Gravel. After Arlen's death in 2009, she had continued to make her home in Flom. The past several winters Bonnie had spent her winters in Yuma, AZ, and the summers in Flom. Bonnie was an active part of the Flom Community and events, even organizing the Arlen Lunde Memorial Car Run. She always enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was an avid Corvette and Harley Davidson enthusiast and a huge Minnesota Vikings fan. Bonnie also loved motorcycling, camping and 4-wheeling.
She is survived by her mother, Melba Perrine of Detroit Lakes, MN; her father and step mother, Ignatius "Nash" (Elsa) Perrine of Ortonville, MN; five daughters, Lisa (Tom) Kvas of Mt. Iron, MN, Crystal Cogger and Tracy Cogger both of New Brighton, MN, Nicole Cogger of Dilworth, MN, and Tiffany Swiers of Waubun; two sons, Gary (Kari) Wood of Cass Lake, MN and Mathew Cogger of Moorhead, MN; one sister, Diana (Dennis) Derstine of Rochert, MN; one brother, Lonnie (Linda) Perrine of Perham, MN; and 10 grandchildren. She also had a young lady that she thought of as a daughter, Jessica Bunker of St. Anthony, MN.
Bonnie was preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer Cogger; one sister, Gina Perrine; and her special friend, Arlen Lunde.
Funeral Services were held Saturday, June 21, 2014, at 10 a.m. at Aspelund Lutheran Church, Flom, MN. Visitation was held Friday, June 20th from 5-7 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. in the church and continued one hour prior to the funeral. Pastor Al Brooks officiated with Mark Tolbert and Diana Derstine providing music. Her casket bearers were Beezer Boman, Jeff Lunde, Jason Lunde, Bob Stevens, Jerry Thompson, Dave Lunde, David Lien, and Danny Stevens.
