Beverly (Raun) Montieth, 89, of Fertile, MN passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 22, 2026, surrounded by family at Fair Meadow Nursing Home in Fertile.

Beverly Raun and her twin sister Barbara were born on March 10, 1936, the youngest of six children, to Burton Raun and Agnes (Lunde) Raun in Pine River, MN. She grew up on the family farm and attended school in Ulen. When she graduated, Beverly and Barbara moved to Fargo, ND to attend secretarial school.

While at school, she met Darrel Montieth on a blind date. They were united in marriage on December 30, 1955. They made their home in Moorhead, MN, where they raised a family of four children: Becky (Dean) Paulson, League City, TX, David (Gwen) Anchorage, AK, Mark (Tammy) Hilton Head, SC and Paul Jay (Brigitte) Crookston, MN.

Most weekends they were seen dancing the Waltz and Polka together around town. They loved dancing and their life at the lake, a shared joy that carried them through decades. After retiring, they shared many adventures with friends during the 18 years they spent as winter Texans in Mission, TX.

She loved her family dearly and showed her love by baking—cookies, donuts, apple bars, lemon bars and toffee bars were never in short supply. A visit to her home was not complete without chatting and laughing over baked goods and coffee. In her later years, she spent a lot of time painting with her grandson, drawing inspiration from Bob Ross.

She carried a little sass in her spirit and a twinkle in her eye, whether dancing the polka or offering a well-timed one-liner. Her humor was sharp, but the love in her heart was even sharper.

Beverly is survived by her husband of 70 years, Darrel Montieth; her four children, 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Maynard Raun, Ingeborg Asleson, Lyle Raun, Arlene Anderson and Barbara Stadler; and one grandson, Michael Paulson.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests you donate to a favorite charity of your choice in Beverly's name.

Celebration of Life Service: 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 28, 2026 at Erikson-Vik-Ganje Funeral Home, Fertile, MN.

Visitation: One hour before the service at the funeral home.

Inurnment: Moorhead Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Moorhead, MN, at a later date.
