Beverley Thorson, age 85, of Hawley, MN formerly Twin Valley, MN, died Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at Hawley Manor Living Center in Hawley, MN.

Beverley Elanoree Dunbar was born on November 20, 1936 in Twin Valley, MN to Charles and Helen (Hall) Dunbar. Bev moved to Harwood, ND as a teenager and lived with her cousin while working at the grocery store. She then moved to Grand Forks, ND for several years before moving to the Minneapolis area. Bev enjoyed raising her three children: Guyo, Dandrea, and Tanda. The family later moved to Cedar, MN where she worked for the Zayre Company as a merchandising manager, organizing the men's, women's, and children's clothing lines for many years. In the 1980's, Bev moved to Twin Valley and later to the Ulen area where she proudly worked as a nurse's aid at Viking Manor Nursing Home for 27 years. After retirement, she moved to Hawley where she helped care for her grandson. In 2012, Bev moved to Hawley Senior Manor.

Bev was a natural caregiver, spending time tending to her family and friends, and caring for residence at the nursing home. Her true joy in life was her grandchildren who she was extremely proud of. Bev was also a bookworm who looked forward to retirement so she could spend more time reading her beloved suspense novels.

Bev is survived by her children, Guyo (Charmie) Thorson of Lake Park, MN, Tanda Thorson and Dandrea Gwin, both of Hawley; 7 grandchildren, Katlin (Tasha), Keane, Allan, Devika, Shawn (Brandee); many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; brothers, Gary Dunbar and Dennis (Eileen) Dunbar; and sister, Lois (Bill) Lundon.

Bev was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Helen Dunbar; and siblings, Ernest, Eileen, and Ethel.

Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at the Anderson Family Funeral Home in Twin Valley, MN.  Visitation will take place one-hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be held following the service in the Twin Valley City Cemetery, Twin Valley.
