Betty Simle, age 88, of Ada, MN, formerly Twin Valley, MN, died Thursday, March 10, 2016 in Essentia Health, Ada.

Betty Jane Pinske was born August 20, 1927, the daughter of Otto and Elsie (Lietzau) Pinske in Ada, MN and was raised on the family farm northeast of Twin Valley. She was baptized and confirmed her faith in Immanuel Lutheran Church near her home. Betty attended Wildwood School, District 28 as a child. As a young lady, Betty was employed as a housekeeper for several neighbors in the area. On November 7, 1947, Betty was united in marriage to Martin Simle in Mahnomen. The couple made their home on a farm east of Twin Valley where Betty was very actively involved in the farming operation. After Martin died on October 17, 1984, Betty continued to live there for a number of years, until moving into the Valley View Apartments in Ada. In July of 2006, Betty made Benedictine Care Community her home where she resided until the time of her death.

Betty's favorite pastimes included gardening and ice fishing with Martin. She enjoyed tending her flowers and putting up the produce from her vegetable gardens in the fall. Over the years, Betty raised chickens and sold eggs to friends and neighbors.

Betty is survived by a sister, Bernice Grossman of Ada, MN; two brothers, Roy (Helen) Pinske of Ogema and Robert (Judy) Pinske of Gary, and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother-in-law, Bernard Grossman.
