Betty was born on May 18, 1932 in Ada, Minnesota to Mildred and Roy Larson. She graduated from Mahnomen High School in 1950 and married Richard Dickson, in 1953. They raised their four children in Dilworth, MN. Betty worked in retail for most of her career, first at Tempo and then Kmart, both in Moorhead. In 1980 Dick and Betty moved to Dick's hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio where Betty worked at the Kmart in Blue Ash, Ohio. She worked there until 1998 and then at age 66 she became a home health aid to several patients who became like family. Caregiving was her true calling. She finally retired at age 75 and after her husband of 50 years passed away, she eventually moved back to Moorhead, Minnesota in 2008. It's there she met her special friend Don Larson. They shared many laughs and good times in the years they knew each other and remained close until the end.
Betty was loved by many and will be remembered for her caring and kind nature, and her always present, beautiful smile and laugh. She was loved dearly and will be missed by so many. We love you Mom and are forever grateful that you were our mother.
