Bertram "Bert" Bak, age 80, of McIntosh, Minnesota, died Tuesday, March 13, 2007, in McIntosh Manor Nursing Home, McIntosh, Minnesota.

Bertram Gerhard Bak was born December 4, 1926, the son of Ole and Ida (Garden) Bak northeast of Gary, Minnesota, in Bear Park Township. Bert was confirmed in his faith at Sundal Lutheran Church where he had been a life long member. As a youngster, Bert attended Giant Oak School in Bear Park Township. After school, Bert worked with his father on the farm as well as helping out area farmers. As a young man, he was employed at the chicken farm near Fertile, Minnesota. He later worked for the Mottebergs and Narums near Gary.

In 1998, Bert moved into Ada, Minnesota. In 1999, he became a resident at the McIntosh Manor Nursing Home where he continued to live until the time of his death.

Bert is survived by two sisters, Lorna Mahle of Ada, MN and Sybil Oakland of Fertile, MN; a brother, Robert Bak of McIntosh, MN and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothers.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2007 at 10:30 AM in Sundal Lutheran Church, rural Fertile, Minnesota. Visitation will be one hour before services at the church on Saturday. Officiating will be Pastor Jeff McCracken with ---- serving as organist and Jim and Dara Narum. Pallbearers will be Jim Narum, David Motteberg, David Oakland, Gene Oakland, Tim Fugleberg and Doug Fugleberg.

Interment will be in Sundal Lutheran Cemetery, rural Fertile, Minnesota.
