Barbara Wang, 73, Fertile, MN, died Sunday, July 12, 2015, at Fair Meadow Nursing Home, Fertile.

Barbara Shirley Riley was born August 7, 1941, to Kenneth and Joyce (Cathers) Riley in New Auburn, WI. In 1955, the family moved to Poplar, MT, where Barbara graduated from high school in 1959.

On October 24, 1959, Barbara married Stanley Wang in Poplar. They lived near Sidney, MT, where Stan worked on a farm until November of 1960, when they moved to Minnesota, living first in Winger and rural Fosston and then moving to Fertile in 1965. For many years Barbara worked at home as a seamstress until 1989, when she went to work as a secretary/bookkeeper for J. R. Dale Farm Supply, working there until 2000. Over the years Barbara served as a Cub Scout leader, and held several volunteer offices at Concordia Lutheran Church.

Barbara is survived by her daughter: Lisa Liden, her son: Stanton both of Fertile, MN; her grandchildren: Cati, Sarah and Donovan Liden, Brittany and Christopher Wang, Keyton, Kade and Koldyn Wang, brothers: Monte (Linda) Riley; Larry (Margaret) Riley; Harlan (Jackie) Reidiger; Jeffrey (Julie) Nelsen; sisters: Bonnie Bechtel; Karen (Claude) Adamson; Paulette (Clete) Leinen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stan, sons: Michael and his wife Carol, Matt, brothers: Lanny and Randy Riley.


Funeral: 10:00AM Friday, July 17, 2015, at Concordia Lutheran Church, Fertile.

Visitation: 5:00-7:00PM Thursday with a 6:30PM prayer service at Erikson-Vik-Ganje Funeral Home, Fertile.

Burial: Concordia East Cemetery, Fertile.
