Audrey F. Thomas, 81, Ada, MN, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at Benedictine Care Community in Ada.

Audrey Faye Thomas was born on March 22, 1942 at the hospital in Grafton, ND to Carl and Olga (Stromstad) Bjerke. She attended country school through 8th grade and graduated from Cavalier (ND) High School in 1960. Audrey attended Mayville State Teachers College, earning her two year degree, and after graduation she taught elementary school in Clinton, MN for four years. While Audrey was teaching elementary school, she continued to attend college courses during the summer months and obtained her 4 year teaching degree in 1967. She was the elementary librarian in Mora, MN school for one year, and then married Wesley Thomas in 1968. After she was married, Audrey was the elementary librarian for Riverside Park and Sabin (MN) schools for 6 years. Audrey and Wes had three children, Ryan, Heather and Kati. They moved to Ada in 1977 where Audrey opened a daycare and worked 20 years as the public librarian.

Audrey enjoyed reading, sewing and quilting, and spending time with her family. She was an active member of the Grace Lutheran Church quilters, and the Minnada Study Club.

Audrey is survived by her husband, Wes, Ada, MN; children, Ryan (Heidi) Thomas, Bemidji, MN; Heather (Eric) Schmidt, Fargo, ND; and Kati Sorenson (Michael Robinson), Barnesville, MN; eight grandchildren; sister, Odella Dalzell; and brother, Charles Bjerke, both of Walhalla, ND.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Olga; and sister Clarice (Kenny) Dahl.

Funeral Service: 11:00 AM, Friday, February 16, 2024 at Grace Lutheran Church, Ada, MN.

Visitation: 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Thursday, February 15, 2024 at Grace Lutheran Church, Ada, MN, with a prayer service to begin at 6:30 PM.

Interment: Ada Municipal Cemetery, Ada, MN.
