Arvid Dennis Monson, 82, of Fertile, MN, passed away on May 22, 2024, at the Villa St. Vincent in Crookston, MN.

He was born on March 17, 1942, to Carl and Myrtle (Bartz) Monson at home in rural Fertile.  Arvid was baptized and confirmed at Little Norway Church of Fertile.  He attended country school for eight years and then graduated from Fertile-Beltrami High School in 1960.

Following graduation, he worked various jobs for area farmers.  On June 30, 1962, Arvid was united in marriage to Priscilla Leines at Faaberg Lutheran Church, Rindal.  They were blessed with six children: Troy, Tina, Tammy, Tracy, Trever, Tanya and one still-born child, Joseph.

Arvid was manager of the Rindal Creamery and from there decided to operate his own farm, planting crops and milking cattle.  After this, he worked for Homark Homes, Inc. building houses.  He retired from Homark and started a Karaoke business, AM-PM Karaoke, with his wife, entertaining for sixteen years.

Arvid enjoyed being with his large family, playing cards, looking at crops, telling jokes, hunting and singing.

Arvid is survived by his wife, Priscilla, Fertile; children: Tina (Robert) Holtman, Fertile, Tammy (Robert) Stoe, Fertile, Tracy Monson, Winger, MN, Trever (Sarah) Monson, Fertile, Tanya (Kevin) Ek, Thief River Falls, MN; sisters, Elaine Larson and Joyce Priewe; brother-in-law, Ordell (Sonia) Leines; sisters-in-law, Angie Svenby, Pat Skatvold, and Jackie Leines; 15 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; sons, Troy and infant, Joseph; granddaughter, Megan Monson; brothers, Jerold Monson and Clayton Monson; sister, Marlene Monson; brothers-in-law, Wallace (Pauline) Leines and LeRoy Leines; and sisters-in-law, Lyla Christianson and Marlene Olson.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at Faaberg Lutheran Church, Rindal, MN.  A Time of Gathering will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
