Arthur James Bevins Sr. was born March 15, 1949, in White Earth, MN, the son of Aaron and Marciana (Oshkinowe) Bevins Sr.  He attended White Earth Mission School and Waubun High School.  Art enlisted in the United States Army on January 14, 1969.  He proudly served his country during Vietnam and was honorably discharged on November 19, 1971.  He returned to the area and furthered his education at the Vo-Tech in Detroit Lakes, MN, for Auto Body.  Art met the love of his life, Wanda Keezer, in 1972.  The couple was united in marriage on April 2, 1976, and were blessed with two sons and a daughter.  They made their home in White Earth where they raised their family.  While working construction for Don Teitz, Art was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma in March of 1989.  He valiantly battled cancer until 1992, when it went into remission.  Recently, Art's health began to rapidly decline, and he died Friday, April 12, 2019, at his home surrounded by family and under Hospice of the Red River Valley.  Art was 70 years old.

Art had a big heart and a love for people, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  He also loved hauling junk with his best friend, Butch, and spending time behind the wheel of his Mustang.  Being in the great outdoors as well as gardening, fishing, hunting, and feeding the birds always brought a smile to Art's face.  Some of his other favorite pastimes included playing cribbage and collecting coins and he enjoyed the opportunity to help out at the M&W Store in White Earth for several years.  Art was an active member of St. Benedict's Catholic Church in White Earth and held memberships with the Mahnomen American Legion and the Waubun-Ogema VFW.

Arthur is survived by his wife, Wanda of White Earth, MN; two sons, Arthur (Maria) Bevins Jr. and Michael (Claudette) Bevins, both of Ogema, MN; daughter, Ashlea (Joseph) Bevins of White Earth, MN; ten grandchildren: Jessica, Dominic, Christopher Jr., Kylei, Michael, Joseph Jr., Serecio, Ryan, Hunter and Mason; four great-grandchildren: Nevaeh, Naiah, Brennen and Aurelius; brothers, Curtis Bevins of Naytahwaush, MN, Kenneth "Gus" (Birdie) Bevins of Ogema, MN; sisters: Doris Jackson, Marcianna "Kibby" Sullivan, Grace Jackson, Mary (Lenard) Smith all of White Earth, MN, Geraldine "Fuzzy" Bellanger of Ogema, MN, Janette "Jay" Bellanger of Naytahwaush, MN, and Donna Warren of White Earth, MN; and many nieces, nephews and expended family on Wanda's side. He is preceded in death by his parents; 6 brothers: Lawrence, George, Benjiman, Aaron, Leon and Harry; and special friends: Francis "Butch" Bellanger, Mark Warren and John "Gook" Hanks.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16, 2019, with a wake service at 6:30 p.m. at the White Earth Community Center and continue one hour before the funeral at the church.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, April 17, 2019, St. Benedict's Catholic Church, White Earth, MN.  Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery, White Earth, MN, at a later date.
