Arnold Wangberg, age 86, of St. Paul, Minnesota, died Tuesday, December 23, 2008, in Sholom Home East in St. Paul.
Arnold C. Wangberg was born October 30, 1922, the son of Oliver and Kalma ( Nordby ) Wangberg in Fargo, North Dakota. He was raised near Halstad, Minnesota where he also attended school. As a young man, Arnold served his country in the United States Army during World War II. After his honorable discharge, he lived in the Twin Cities where he was employed as a bookkeeper at the Appliance Parts Store. On June 1, 1957, Arnold was united in marriage to Arlene Wagstrum in Twin Valley, Minnesota. The couple continued to make their home in the Twin Cities area. After his retirement in the mid 1980's, Arnold was employed part time with Menards for several years. He recently entered the Shalom Home East Care Center where he lived until the time of his death.
Arnold is survived by his wife, Arlene of St. Paul, Minnesota and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service was held on Saturday, January 3rd, 2009, at 11:00 AM at the Anderson Funeral Home, Twin Valley, Minnesota. Officiating was Pastor Charlie Bade. Inurnment was in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Twin Valley.
