Arnold Prestegord, 74, of Twin Valley, Minnesota died Saturday, January 6, 2007, in the Twin Valley Living Center.

Arnold Clifford Prestegord was born July 12, 1932, east of Twin Valley, MN, the son of Severt and Borghild (Bottolfs) Prestegord. He was baptized and confirmed into his Christian faith at the Wild Rice Lutheran church, rural Twin Valley. Arnold attended county school near Fossum, MN. As a young man he worked for area farmers and later spent some time in Washington State where he worked as a logger. On November 8, 1952 he married Virginia Grembowski in Ada, MN. They made their home in the Twin Valley community for a short time before Arnold entered the United States Army. While in the Army they moved to Washington State before he was sent to Korea. Upon his discharge in 1955, they returned to Twin Valley for a short time before moving to the Ada –Borup area where he was employed with area farmers. Arnold was employed at the Felton Elevator for most of his working career. On October 11, 1981, Arnold was united in marriage to Darlene Glawe Askelson in Sisseton, SD. The couple lived in Felton for a time and moved to Twin Valley in 1989, where Arnold performed small engine repair. After Darlene's death in 1995, Arnold continued to make his home in Twin Valley and became a resident of the Twin Valley Living Center in the summer of 2006.

Arnold is survived by his special friend and companion of many years Ardell Bolstad, Fertile, MN one daughter, Dorothy (Larry) Vincent, Felton, MN; three sons, Vernon (Kristi), Twin Valley, MN, Steve (Marilyn) Ada, MN, and Edward (Denise) Felton, MN; three sisters, Lenora Locken and Selma Hassel both of Fosston, MN, and Hilda (Gerald) Grove, Twin Valley, MN; two brothers, Alfred and Martin (Erma) all of Twin Valley, MN; one sister-in law Edith Prestegord; 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Darlene, and one brother Lars.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00am in the Wild Rice Lutheran Church, rural Twin Valley, MN. Visitation will be held Monday from 5:00pm until 7:00pm with a prayer service at 7:00pm, all in the Anderson Funeral Home, Twin Valley, MN. Pastor Larry Vigen will officiate with JoLee Habedank as pianist. The pallbearers are Lynn Wieum, Bobby Brevik, Ray Myers, Sheldon "Butch" Johnson, Stacey Prestegord and Richard Prestegord. Honorary pallbearers are all of his friends and neighbors. Military rites will be provided by the Twin Valley Nesseth-Lien Post #431 of the American Legion.Burial will be in the Wild Rice Lutheran Cemetery, Twin Valley, MN
