Arline Viola Gigler passed away August 14th, 2024; three months after reaching her 100th birthday, an important goal for Arline in her last few months. Arline passed away peacefully and quietly at Benedictine Care Community in Ada, MN, attended by staff and hospice care and in the company of family. Arline was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Martha (Duenow) Gigler; sister, Rosebell Gigler; and brothers, Lawrence, Robert, and Alvin Gigler.

Arline roamed far and wide. After graduating from Ada High School in 1942, Arline traveled to visit family around the country, working as she traveled. After WWII, she joined the US Air Force, serving in Occupied Japan and Newfoundland, as well as several places in the continental US. She left the USAF as a Staff Sargent and started a career working in insurance, retiring to Texas for the warmth and friendliness. Arline traveled to Europe after retirement then moved back north, and lived in Fargo with the assistance of Denise Whitman, her niece.

Because of health reasons, Arline had to enter Bridges Care Community in 2011. Despite rapidly failing eyesight, she enjoyed listening to Twins Baseball, "Because if the announcer is any good, I can see the whole game, even when I can't."  The nursing staff was always grateful for her ability to accept what she couldn't change with a positive attitude, as more and more of her abilities started to fail. Her final months and days were supported by her youngest brother Dennis, who visited her and fed her.

Arline is survived by her brothers, Leslie (Lois) Gigler, and Denny (Jan) Gigler, both of Ada; and nieces and nephews, John and Frank Gigler, Deb Hagen, Doug Gigler, Pixi Macicek, Jeff and Joyce Wang, Ronald Gigler, David and Kelly Gigler, Christy Dalby, Cynthia Helland, Tony and Carol Gigler, Patrice Scott, Denise Whitman, and Byron, Dwight, and Jeffrey Gigler.

Funeral Service: 1:00 PM, Friday, August 30, 2024 at St. John's Lutheran Church, rural Ada, MN.

Visitation: One hour before the service at the church.

Interment: Ada Municipal Cemetery, Ada, MN.
