Arlin Pederson, age 70, of Hawley, MN, passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2023, at Essentia Health in Fargo, ND.

Arlin O Pederson, along with his twin brother, Arvid, were welcomed into this world on January 15, 1953, by Calmer and Olive (Martel) Pederson. He was raised in the Gary and Twin Valley, MN area where he attended school. As a young man, Arlin worked various jobs in the Fargo-Moorhead, Detroit Lakes, and Frazee communities. On October 22, 1983, Arlin married Carol Portz. They made their home in Twin Valley and during their 16 years of marriage, the couple was blessed with four children: Nathan, Andrew, Nicole, and Wade. In the early 1990's, Arlin began his career at the Shooting Star Casino in Mahnomen, MN. He enjoyed his job as a server, especially visiting with his co-workers and the regular patrons. Due to declining health, Arlin retired and moved to Moorhead, MN for a time. He has made his home in Hawley for the past several years.

Arlin enjoyed the outdoors, riding horseback, and fishing. He was an avid Nascar fan and attended area sporting events and rodeos as often as he was able. In his quite times, Arlin spent many hours putting puzzles together and watching old Westerns. He was very proud of his children and was delighted to become a grandpa. Arlin truly cherished the precious time he spent with each of his grandchildren. He was a member of Hawley Alliance Church and through his Faith, Arlin found great peace. He bravely battled through dialysis for many years and is now at rest. Blessed be the memory of Arlin Pederson.

Arlin is survived by three sons: Nathan (Demmie) of Hawley, Andrew of Twin Valley, and Wade of Red Lake Falls, MN; one daughter, Nicole Pederson of Twin Valley; his grandchildren: Landon, Rylee, Morris, Melanie, Kailyn, Davina, and a new grandbaby arriving this this fall; two brothers, Arvid (Trish) and Ken (Pauline); two sisters, LaVonne (Ron) Voltz, and LuAnne (Steve) Basney; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
