Arlene
Korsgaden
Mar 7, 1938 — Jun 1, 2025
Twin Valley
Arlene Korsgaden was given life by our Creator and was born March 7, 1938, to Frank and Ruth (Rinerson) Broers on her family farm in Rockwell Township, Twin Valley, MN. She received the gift of Holy Baptism and as a teenager confessed that baptismal faith in the rite of Confirmation. Arlene was raised on the farm with her four siblings. She attended Meadowdale Country School and Twin Valley High School. Arlene was united in marriage to Gordon Korsgaden on March 20, 1960, at Zion Lutheran Church. They were blessed with two sons, Kevin and Craig. On June 1, 2025, at the age of 87 years, she entered the arms of her Lord.
Arlene loved spending time with her family, as her family was most precious to her. She was a lifelong active member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Zion Quilters. Arlene was also a member of the Twin Valley Legion Auxiliary for many years and Red Hats of Mahnomen. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed traveling and coffee time with friends and family.
Arlene is survived by her son, Kevin (Angie) Korsgaden of Twin Valley; grandchildren: Jessica (Tim) Liebl of Hawley, MN, Kayla (Andrew) Thronson of Glyndon, MN, and Michael Korsgaden of Twin Valley; great-grandchildren: Colten, Brett and Fara Liebl, and Avery, Maren and Wes Thronson; sister, Faye Naugle of Park Rapids, MN; sister-in-law, Cathy Broers of Twin Valley; brother-in-law, Loren Erickson also of Park Rapids; several nieces and nephews, and her lifelong dear friend, Audrey Airhart.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Craig; siblings: Janice Heiraas, Marge Erickson, and Richard Broers; sisters-in-law: Vivian (Korsgaden) Halvorson, Avis Korsgaden and Adell Korsgaden; brothers-in-law: Oral Korsgaden, Lloyd Korsgaden, Ervin Korsgaden, Marvin Korsgaden, Bob Heiraas, and Darrel Naugle.
We will miss our mother and grandmother dearly, yet our confidence is in Christ. She now rests in the arms of Jesus, awaiting the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come and we look forward to a blessed reunion in heaven.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at 11:00am, with a visitation 1 hour prior, at Zion Lutheran Church in Twin Valley.
