Obituary

Arleen C. Wangberg, age 88, of St. Paul, Minnesota, died Saturday, November 6, 2010, at the Lyngblomsten Care Center in St. Paul.

Arleen Claire Wagstrom was born August 25, 1922, to Herbert and Lillie (Stenshoel) Wagstrom, in Crookston, Minnesota. She moved with her family to Twin Valley, Minesota, in 1935 and graduated from high school there. She attended Concordia College, Moorhead, for one year. Arleen did secretarial work for businesses in Ada, Fargo, Moorhead and Minneapolis. She also helped at the Salvation Army. In 1957, she was united in marriage to Arnold Clarence Wangberg in Twin Valley. They lived in Columbia Heights until 2001, when they moved to Lyngblomsten Apartments in St. Paul.

Arleen was an active Lutheran church member serving in women's groups and choirs. She also enjoyed art and musical concerts.

She is survived by her brother Wayne (Loanna) Wagstrom and his family, Gwen (Mark) Halaas, Craig Wagstrom, Ann Wagstrom, Thor (Rikki) Wagstrom and Rolf Wagstrom. Arleen was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Arnold.

Memorial services will be held Friday, November 12th at 2:00 p.m. in Lyngblomsten Chapel, 1415 Almond Ave, St. Paul. A committal service will be at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Twin Valley, Minnesota, on Saturday, November 20th at 2:00 PM. Officiating will be Pastor Mark Halaas.
