Ardis Leona Jacobson, 92, of Ada, MN, died on Monday, February 11, 2013, at Essentia Health, Ada, MN.
She was born in a log house on June 24, 1920, to Oscar and Clara (Holm) Rasmusson at Pitt, MN. Ardis grew up near Ada, and assisted her family with home and farm work. For three years she moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to live with her aunt. She worked for a coal company. In 1945, Ardis returned to Ada, where she began working in domestic help for area farms.
On December 16, 1948, Ardis was united in marriage to Alvin Jacobson at Lockhart, MN, at the church parsonage. The couple moved to Williston, North Dakota in 1952, where they owned and operated Prior Electrics. Ardis also did mailers for investment companies and ironed for many people. Ardis returned to Ada after her husband died and entered Bridges Care Community.
She is a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Ada. Ardis loved writing letters, working with flowers, and making many Afghans. She especially enjoyed doing things for her nieces and nephews during their school years.
Ardis is survived by a brother Roy (Muriel) Rasmusson, Ada; and nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Alvin of almost 60
Funeral: Thursday, February 14, 2013, at 2 PM in Fredrikson Funeral Home, Ada, MN.
Visitation: One hour before the service in the funeral home.
Burial: Ada Municipal Cemetery, Ada, MN.
