Annie Hegrenes, age 93, of Yakima, Washington, formerly of Twin Valley, Minnesota, died Monday, April 30, 2007, in Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.
Annie N. Walseth was born May 24, 1913, to Bernt and Marie (Pederson) Walseth at St. Hilaire, MN. She grew up on a farm and attended country school near there, then went to St. Hilaire High School for two years. When her mother became ill, Annie stayed home until her mom died in 1932.
In 1938, Annie was united in marriage to Joseph T. Hegrenes of Thief River Falls, Minnesota. They farmed first near Borup, Minnesota, then Ada, Minnesota and finally near Twin Valley. In 1968, they sold the farm and moved into Twin Valley. Joe died December 1, 1979. Annie continued living in Twin Valley until 1997, when she moved to Yakima, Washington, where she continued to live until the time of her death.
Annie is survived by three daughters, Mildred (Ken) Stenehjem and Barbara (Dick) Smelser of Yakima, WA and Carolyn Hegrenes, Hawaii; 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and two sisters-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Joe, and two brothers and their wives, Thorstein (Sylvia) and Harold (Gladys).
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 7th at 1:00 PM in Zion Lutheran Church, Twin Valley. Officiating will be Pastor Charles Bade with serving as organist and special music provided by the Walseth family. Pallbearers will be Bob Williams, Don Williams, Al Walseth, Eddy Walseth, Wally Walseth and Lyle Walseth.
Interment will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Twin Valley, Minnesota.
